A list of major events on the Gold Coast for 2023. The Gold Coast is home to many of Queensland’s major events, the highlights among many include:
- The Gold Coast 500 – One of the biggest events in Queensland, attracting a crowd of around 300,000 + fans.
- The Magic Millions Horse Racing Carnival – Attracting spectators and buyers from around the globe to a week of horse sales, racing, and events.
- Gold Coast Airport Marathon – Around 12,000 competitors hit the pavement each year for this iconic event.
- Sanctuary Cove Boat Show – Growing every year and attracting visitors from all over the globe.

Qoin Sail Paradise
Date: 2nd – 6th January 2023 Location: Main Beach
A five-day event with four days of magnificent racing to be staged on the beautiful ocean waters off the Gold Coast’s golden beaches, between Main Beach and the QLD/NSW border, with daily Race Results and Live Entertainment nightly at Southport Yacht Club’s Main Beach Clubhouse.
Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday
Date: 14 January Location: Gold Coast Turf Club
The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday features the $2 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas exclusively for Magic Millions graduates. With ten fast-paced races at the picturesque Gold Coast Turf Club, including $750,000 in Magic Millions Racing Women’s Bonuses.

Gold Coast Triathlon
Date: 1 & 2 April 2023 Location: Southport
Features the Australian Grand Prix Triathlon – Triple Mix on Saturday 1st April, The Pho3nix Kids Gold Coast Triathlon on Saturday 1st April, and, The Pho3nix Gold Coast Triathlon – Luke Harrop Memorial on Sunday 2nd April.

Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival

The Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival hosts free international and Australian talent annually across outdoor stages and venues throughout Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show
Date: 25-28 May 2023 Location: Sanctuary Cove
Featuring over 300+ exhibitors and 600+ watercraft on display including superyachts, fishing boats, trailers, watercraft, marine tech, and much more.
Cooly Rocks On Festival 2023
Date: 7-11 June 2023 Location: Coolangatta
Cooly Rocks On attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Coolangatta for live music, Pin-up Pageant, vintage markets, and classic cars, with an impressive collection of vehicles on display in what is renowned as one of Australia’s best Show ‘N’ Shine displays.
Gold Coast Marathon 2023

The Gold Coast Marathon, a World Athletics Label Road Race, is the pinnacle of road running events in Australia and during its history has distinguished itself as one of the most prestigious marathons in the world.
Pacific Airshow Gold Coast
Date: 18-20 August 2023 Location: Surfers Paradise
The three-day festival will transform the sky over iconic Surfers Paradise into Australia’s biggest stage, with high-flying performances by elite military aviators and the best civilian performers from around the world. The breathtaking aerial feats performed over Surfers Paradise Beach and backdropped by the iconic Gold Coast skyline are sure to excite and amaze.
World Bowls Championships
Date: 29 August – 10 September 2023 Location: Broadbeach
The Championships will be held across three venues, including the Broadbeach Bowls Club.
Gold Coast Show 2023
Date: 1st to 3rd September 2023 Location: Broadwater Parklands
The popular Gold Coast Show features equestrian events, side-show alley, wood chopping, baby animal farms, arts, crafts, camel rides on the beach, live music, and of course, the showbag pavilion.
V8 Supercars GC500
Date: October 2023 Location: Surfers Paradise
The Gold Coast 500 is run on the streets of Surfers Paradise featuring Supercars battling for championship points along with supporting races throughout the event. The now-famous Surfers Paradise Street Circuit is a 3 km track that runs along Surfers Paradise Esplanade and Main Beach Parade, Breaker Street, the Gold Coast Highway, and Surfers Paradise Blvd.
